I gotta be honest . . . I’m kind of on a smoothie kick lately.

Reason #1: They’re healthy and for January, I’m trying to bring you guys some great healthy eats and treats!

Reason #2: They taste goooood.

Reason #3 (the main reason, if I’m being real with you): There was a sale on frozen fruit at my local grocery store, so my entire freezer is f.u.l.l. of frozen fruit. Cherries, pineapple, mango, every single kind of berry known to man. You name it . . . I got it. 😉

My obsession began a few Fridays ago when I made my Blueberry Muffin Smoothie. Making that smoothie reminded me of how tasty, how quick and easy, and how healthy smoothies can be!

This tropical green smoothie recipe really is delicious, will take you 10minutes from start to finish (and that includes cleaning the Vitamix! 😉 ), and is full of good for you ingredients like mango, strawberries, and . . .

Kale.😱

Now wait! I know putting kale in smoothies might be hard for some people, because, honestly, I get it, it sounds kind of disgusting.

But I promise you, it’s not! The fruit covers up the taste of the kale and with your high powdered blender, the only kale you’ll see is in the pretty green color. 🙂 No chunks allowed. Promise.

Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe - Kale, Mango, Strawberry (3)Are you still with me after the whole putting kale in your smoothie thing?

Good.

Trevor and I have been trying really hard to incorporate more kale into our diet. Why?

Because it’s SO. DARN. GOOD FOR YOU!

I won’t get into the specifics, but long story short, kale is one ofthe most nutrient dense foods . . . so it’s just really good for you, ok? 😉

Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe - Kale, Mango, Strawberry (4)For me, I have a hard time eating lots and lots of leafy greens. Don’t get me wrong, I love salad, but do I want salad for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? No.

I’ve found the easiest way for me to get a ton of leafy greens into my diet is by juicing or making smoothies!

Fresh green juice and smoothies are especially great for me to get my veggiesin first thing in the morning. If I get my veggies in first thing in the morning, it

1. helps me make healthier choices throughout the day

and

2. makes me feel less guilty if I don’t get veggies in the rest of the day. 😉

While I love my fresh green juice (anyone interested in the recipe?), NOTHING is easier than this tropical green smoothie.

Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe - Kale, Mango, Strawberry (5)Simply place your kale, frozen mango, frozen strawberries, orange juice– we love Simply Orange – and your choice of milk into your high powered blender (I’d recommend VitamixorBlendtec) and blend until smooth!

As you can see, this tropical green smoothie is crazy easy to make. It’s also CRAZY healthy as we pack in 2 whole cups of kale and 1 cup total of frozen fruit.💪

It’s also CRAZY delicious. It’s sweet thanks to the mango, strawberries, and orange juice, a little creamy from the milk, and a little earthy from the kale.

Now. Here’s the deal, I think this tropical green smoothie is a GREAT gateway to other green smoothies, as the fruit and orange juice really covers up the kale taste.

H.O.W.E.V.E.R.

If you’re reeeeeally not into kale or find the kale taste too strong, either swap it out with spinach – which I think has a more mild taste – or simply add in more frozen fruit!

Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe - Kale, Mango, Strawberry (6)Whatever you decide to do, this tropical green smoothie will be so healthy, so easy, and so, so delicious!
