Do redwings run big or small? ›

Firstly, it is important to state that Red Wings fit rather big and require a few weeks of break-in time. We recommend to choose a half to a whole EU or US size smaller (depending on if you have a wider or more narrow foot), than usually worn in other brands of shoes.

Red Wing shoes are made with high-quality materials and are handcrafted by skilled artisans. The leather used in Red Wing shoes is sourced from top-quality hides and tanned using a time-tested process that ensures the leather is both supple and strong.

Each pair is made with tremendous detail, across every step needed to make a Red Wing boot. Turning premium leather into the best footwear is a complex and involved process. At Red Wing, we do that through a unique combination of advanced technology and handmade craftsmanship.

Footwear products bearing the “Red Wing” or “Red Wing Shoes” label are warranted against defects in workmanship and materials. If within 12 months of purchase, a defect occurs in a Red Wing branded footwear product as the result of normal use, Red Wing will repair the defect or exchange the product.

All Red Wing leather comes from our own tannery, S.B. Foot Tanning Company, located in Red Wing, Minnesota. Transforming hides into leather is an art form. Preparation begins by soaking each hide in a wood drum with tree oils, tanning agents and dyes.

Red Wings have durable soles, and these can be cleaned as often as is necessary. Simply remove any pieces of mud or dirt with a stiff brush, and use a damp cloth to clean off any remaining dirt as required. Take care to avoid getting the leather wet if you can, but if you do then leave the boots to dry after cleaning.

Swamp foot or fatigue can knock you off the trail just as fast as a downed tree or washed out trail. You can count on Red Wing brand hiking boots to take you down any path!

Fron what i know and usually see D =narrow E = wide EE = double wide EEE = even wider width. My feet is a 6.5 E in red wing shoes so i fit perfectly in their size 7D cause i up by half a size in order to compensate the width (wideness).

Can you return worn boots to Red Wing? ›

We accept boots back in exchange for another size or style, or a store credit within twenty one days of purchase providing the boots have only been tried on whilst standing on the carpet. Boots that have been worn or show signs of wear cannot be returned for consideration.

Once you've purchased boots from our store, come in every 30 days to receive Red Wing quality boot care and services, including the following: Free boot cleaning and oiling and eyelet rotation. Free boot laces.

If your feet are a narrow width (and no narrow sizes are available to purchase), you may need to order a 1/2 size smaller than your normal size. If your feet are a wide width (and no wide sizes are available to purchase), try ordering a 1/2 size larger than your normal size. Your feet may be two different sizes.

The best way to break in a new pair of Red Wings is by wearing them. You might want to start off by wearing them for shorter periods and building up to all day wear over a period of a couple of weeks. If your new boots start to feel uncomfortable, stop wearing them and try again the next day.

SIZING: Many customers size down half a size from their normal boot size and a full size down from their normal trainer size.
