Main[]

Vitor, Natalie, and Pluto[]

Pokémon Uranium/characters (1)

The main characters in the game, in which the player can choose their name and gender at the start.

  • Vitor is a male character. Originally named Pluto as a beta name in early versions, which was chosen to Vitor in the final draft, leaving the name serves as a new gender. Vitor means "winner".
  • Natalie is a female character. Originally named as Neptune or Mose in early versions, the former deemed to be too silly-sounding.
  • Pluto is a nonbinary character. Due to their appearance, Pluto's gender is intentionally left ambiguous because of this, the player can choose to identify them however they prefer.

Each different genders shared in the same birth of parents with high intelligence: Kellyn, a world-renowned Pokémon Ranger, and Lucille, a genius nuclear physicist; the hero would have lived an easy life had tragedy not struck when they were only 3 years old. The disaster at the nuclear power plant resulted in the presumed death of their mother, and the subsequent grief of their father made him abandon his duties to his child and throw himself into his work. They were left in the care of Kellyn's Auntie in Moki Town, where they grew up alone, only seeing their father on rare occasions. Theo was a childhood friend, who used to always follow them around and copy everything they did.

At the age of 13, Auntie tells them that due to her age she cannot support them any longer. Fortunately, Professor Bamb'o is looking for a research assistant, and having known them and Theo for many years agrees to hire them. They leave home to journey out across Tandor.

Theo Caine[]

    Age 12

1/2

The deuteragonist in the game, serves as the main character's rival throughout the game's storyline.

Theo lives with his father Cameron in the same town, Moki Town, as the main character has known him since they were both young. It is revealed at Professor Bamb'o's lab that Theo always followed the hero around while they were growing up. There is an interesting contrast between the main character and Theo. While the hero's father essentially abandoned his child after his wife disappeared, Theo's father raised him with a very protective style of parenting. (Theo's mother is absent for unexplained reasons; however, post-game conversations imply that she may have died when Theo was young.)

If the main character loses against Theo when they get their starters, Theo still goes home to his father, but this time he is overjoyed and brags about the whole battle to Cameron. Cameron then asks the hero if they lost on purpose or not.

The main character runs into Theo periodically during their journey, though Theo is always one step behind.

Major[]

Kellyn[]

Pokémon Uranium/characters (4)

One of the major characters in the game, serves as the main character's father and Lucille's husband throughout the game's storyline. The player first encounters him in the Tandor Ranger HQ in Bealbeach City, and afterwards in Legen Town where he is helping rescue people from Nuclear Pokémon.

As a world-renowned Pokémon Ranger of the Tandor Ranger Union, he was born in the Fiore region and later moved to Almia to join the Pokémon Ranger academy. Following his graduation from the academy, he proved himself as an expert cadet and Area Ranger, exploring the whole region, saving Pokémon from enemies, and protecting the lives of Almia's citizens. He was quickly promoted to Top Ranger status following a raid on an enemy cargo ship, and later led a raid on an enemy stronghold to save all of Almia. There, he is known for his heroism and became quite the celebrity.

He moved to Tandor from Almia and was married to Lucille, a renowned scientist studying nuclear physics. They lived together in a house in Bealbeach City, although since they both had very demanding jobs, they spent a lot of time away from home. Lucille had a child, and for three years they lived peaceful, happy lives as a family -- until disaster struck at the nuclear plant in which Lucille worked.

Losing his wife Lucille in the nuclear accident shook Kellyn to the core. He became obsessed with it, blaming himself for not being able to protect her and desperate to find a shred of evidence that proved she was still alive. Their home in Bealbeach and their child was too much a reminder of the extreme loss he had suffered. He became absent, leaving the young child in Moki Town, in the care of his Aunt instead, and focused on his work.

In the present day, he organizes them a job capturing Pokémon for his old friend Professor Bamb'o and also has Cameron give the player a PokéPod at the start of the game.

Minor[]

Lucille[]

Pokémon Uranium/characters (5)

One of the minor characters in the game, serves as the main character's mother and Kellyn's wife in the introductory cutscene before the accident.

Lucille was a genius scientist who specialized in Nuclear Physics. She was the chief supervisor of Tandor Region's largest Nuclear Power Plant, located on an island to the southeast of Bealbeach City. She was widely respected in her field and was on the cutting edge of research to develop newer, safer clean energy technologies.

She was married to Kellyn some time before the events of the game and had a child three years prior. Though the two worked demanding jobs, they both still made time for their child.

One day, while performing a routine maintenance procedure on the Nuclear Power Plant where she worked, the core spontaneously began to overheat. Cameron, who was on-site as an electrical technician, made sure that all of the plant operators working there evacuated safely; however, upon attempting to evacuate Lucille, she fled deeper into the underground sections of the plant and was incapable of being evacuated before the core detonated. The area was left uninhabitable and thus hindered any opportunity to look for her body.
