If you've been running in the chilly winter weather without a pair of running gloves, can we ask what's taken you so long to come round to the handy (literally) bit of kit? Should I wear gloves when running?
Whether you wear gloves when you run is 100% a personal decision. Sometimes you might want the extra layer of warmth and protection and other days prefer to fly free.
One thing to note, if you're running in particularly cold or wet conditions, thermal or waterproof gloves can mean you don't hunch your shoulders or stretch your sleeves over your hands to keep out the chill. This will help keep you in a proper running position with your core engaged. (Good running shoes, a properly fitting sports bra and not holding your phone will do that too, but today's about gloves, so let's get back to it.)
What to look for in running gloves
The different types of running gloves (lightweight, liners, thermal, windproof, waterproof, touch-screen compatible) are all things to consider when picking out run gloves. It's good to think about how warm you like your hands to be, whether you need to use a smartphone or music device whilst running and how much wind/rain interfere with your endorphins.
